Topic: Soul Care Basics — Key Scriptures: Luke 8:43-48, John 5:1-9, Matthew 26:36-46
Somewhere along the way, many people learn a painful lesson:
Their grief is too heavy. Their needs are too complicated. Their pain takes up too much space. And so they begin the long work of making themselves smaller — of managing the presentation of their inner life so that it fits inside the bandwidth others have available for it.
They become very good at not being too much.
This is an enormous thing to carry. And it goes largely unacknowledged, because the people who are most practiced at it are also the most practiced at making it look like they are fine.
You are not too much. You have simply never been given enough space.
At BRKN Soul Care, the first thing offered in every session is exactly that: space. Unhurried, non-judgmental, genuinely curious space. Not a space with an agenda to move the person somewhere else. A space where what they bring is treated as worthy of being attended to — however heavy, however complicated, however long it has been sitting unaddressed.
The Gospel has something important to say here. Jesus did not move quickly past the people who came to him with too much. The woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. The man at the pool of Bethesda who had been waiting for thirty-eight. The disciples in the garden who kept falling asleep. He slowed down. He asked. He stayed.
He was not inconvenienced by human need. He was drawn to it.
If you have been told — directly or indirectly, by others or by yourself — that you are too much: that is not the truth about you. That is the residue of spaces that were too small.
This space is not too small.
You are welcome here, exactly as you are, with everything you have been carrying.
That is what BRKN Soul Care exists for.
If this resonates with where you are today, BRKN Soul Care is here. Book a free Introductory Conversation at brknsoulcare.org and take the first step. You don’t have to carry this alone.
